Activities for 21 Feb 2023

Today we completed the bulk of the planting for the El Nativo plant delivery. Nancy Taylor Walker, Monica Barton, John Allday, Beverly Kemmerling and I were on hand to plant and water. Bob Butler had plant labels prepared, and Bill Dobner worked on the compost. BTW, Bill wanted me to reach out to see if anyone knew the fate of the screen used for sifting compost as it is missing.

16 grasses were planted in Lilian’s Meadow (9) and the Native Section near the Garden Entrance (7) All were watered in after planting. Planted today were:

6 - Festuca idahoensis 'Tomales Bay' - small yellow flags: 3 in Lillian's Meadow and 3 in the garden gate side of the Native Garden 6 - Bouteloua gracilis - red flags: 4 in Lillian's Meadow and 2 in the Native Garden near the garden gate on the north side of the path. 4 - Bouteloua gracilis 'Blond Ambition' - yellow flags: 2 in Lillian's Meadow and 2 in the Native Garden near the garden gate on the north side of the path.

Bob captured 4 of us (Nancy, Beverly, Monica and me) in Lillian’s Meadow.

And Nancy caught Bob just about to plant one of the grasses in the Native Section.

Enjoy the garden and stay well…KMM
